Born with the philosophy of gifting happy, healthy skin for all, Meebak Seoul is one of the first Korean beauty brands to focus on a direct-to-consumer approach in the US. Heeji Kim, founder and CEO, spent many hours a day in front of a computer screen, which she worried would stress and damage her skin and health. As a lover of skincare products and skin pampering beauty routines, she was always looking for new ways to improve her skin.

One day she found a miracle ingredient she fell in love with that helped combat dryness, redness, dull skin, and signs of stress - cica! But cica was not well known in the US skincare market, let alone readily available. Wanting to share this amazing skin-soothing plant with fellow skincare lovers, she decided to create the cica cream herself.

She sampled cica creams from top manufacturers in South Korea and made them available online, where they were a massive hit. Everyone all across America was experiencing the soothing and reparative benefits of cica for the first time! She launched Meebak in 2020. In May 2021, Meebak went through a rebranding process and was reborn as Meebak Seoul, to showcase the brand’s love for K-beauty and where the products originate from.
